About Me
- Sogol Haji Hosseini is currently a MA student in the field of gerontology at Simon Fraser University and also a backbone senior coordinator at 411 seniors center for navigation and peer-support funded agencies through BC.
- She graduated from the University of Tehran in 2020 in the field of urban planning. She received the B.E. degree in Urbanism Engineering from the Imam Khomeini International University, Iran, in 2017.
- Her main areas of research interest are: urban planning, transportation planning, mobility, TOD systems, pedestrian and bike-friendly street design, and public health improvements by active mobility.
- Her dissertation title is “Analyzing the role of urban planning in improving active mobility and public health.”.
- In 2017, she ranked 1/4950 in the first and second stages of the nationwide university's entrance exam in urban planning in Iran.

Other Activities
PhotographyBeing a professional photographer has been a lifelong ambition for me, and I started learning how to take photographs in college, which I pursued with getting a DSLR a couple of years after, which could be called my first steps in this journey. Though I still do not call myself a pro, I use every chance I get to learn more and more. As I am an avid traveler, I like to showcase my photography as a way to share my stories with others, and I believe that it helps to treasure the precious moments in life forever; whether it is an outstanding landscape, an urban skyline, a beautiful natural spot, etc.. photography helps me to capture memories more tangibly.

SketchingI started drawing before I attended school, and it has always been a hobby of mine that took a different orientation as the years passed. Nowadays, I enjoy drawing urban sketches. Whether the scene is somewhere I would be or landmarks in other cities that I would like to visit in the future.

HikingIndeed, I can not see myself living in any other place than in urban areas and metropolitans for long periods. But I think it is essential to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the cities now and then, take a moment to experience nature and make a connection to it. As much as I like traveling to other cities to see their historical/architectural landmarks and get to know the culture of new communities, I want to spend time in nature and appreciate the beauty of those spectacular areas. Thus, Hiking, going on adventures, etc., has been a big part of my pastime for a couple of years now.
